Volume 1 Issue 2: October 2019
pages 9, 10, 11, 25, 28
This was the first issue I worked on with the new journalism class, and it definitely could have gone a lot worse. That being said, this issue had so many issues that we needed to cut pages, so I had to redesign some things to make them fit. The best writer did all of his own art, and it shows it the final result; it looks really cool. I hope that next time I don't have to do as much fixing and creating of art, but overalsl, the end result is something I can be proud of.
Volume 1 Issue 0: The Highlander newsmagazine
pages 18, 21, and 22
This was the inaugural issue of our newsmagazine, so there were a lot of problems along the way for everyone involved. Two of my writers had never really done structured work with indesign before, so trying to teach the basics that I know was harder than anticipated. Fortunately for me, all of my writers had great design plans that came to fruition with almost no help from me on that part, and I'm incredibly proud of them for doing that so well. All their pages ended up looking great and we're all pretty happy with the end result, so I'd say it was a success for the inaugural issue of the newsmagazine.
